The Beatles were the most famous rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960.
The main member of the band was John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
Their first single Tony Sheridan with The Beatles from Polydor was “My Bonnie”, released in 1962, reached #26 on the Billboard Hot 100, #48 on the UK single chart.
The second one “Love Me Do” was released as their own first single in the same year, topped on the Billboard Hot 100, won on the Australian single and New Zeeland single charts as well, but didn’t top, peaked #17 on their home land UK single chart.
Now, “Please Please Me” was released as their own second single in UK from their first the same title album in 1963, but released as the own first single in US in the same year.
It was peaked #2 on the UK single chart, but the first edition didn’t rank on the Billboard Hot 100.
Next year, it was re-relased in US, the edition peaked #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
