Marty Robbins – El Paso

Martin David Robinson was an American country singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, had started his career as a proffesional musician since 1948.

His debut single “I’ll Go On Alone” was written by himself, released as a non-album song from Columbia Records in 1952, topped on the Billboard country single chart.

He had written and sung a lot of country single hits until 1975, but his own studio No.1 album was only one.

Now, “El Paso” was written by Marty Robbins himself, released in 1959, first topped on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960, this was the first No.1 song in 1960s.
