Stravinsky The Rite of Spring // London Symphony Orchestra/Sir Simon Rattle

Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky was a Russian composer and conductor, was born in 1882.

He is widely considered one of the most important and influential composers of the 20th century and a pivotal figure in modernist music.

His first composition was written for piano “Tarantella” in 1898.

His first orchestral opus was “Symphony in E-flat (original version)” in 1905.

Now, “The Rite of Spring” was written for the 1913 Paris season of Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes company.

When it’s the first performance, developed into a riot between between supporters and opponents.

However, it’s getting popular in his opus, a lot of orchestras & ballet companies perform it, it’s his signature opus.

This time, I’d like to share the video by conducted Simon Rattle & performed London Symphony Orchestra.
