His debut single “Another Love Has Ended” was released in 1956, but was not a hit at all.
His first hit single “The All American Boy” was released in 1958, peaked #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Now, “Detroit City” was released in 1963, reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 on the Billboard country single, #4 on the Billboard adult contemporary charts.
It has become one of his best known songs.
