His first hit single, “Mr. Lucky”, was composed and recorded by him and released in 1960. It peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 20 on the Cash Box chart.
His No. 1 hit single, “Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet”, was released in 1969. However, the song was actually composed by Nino Rota, not by Henry Mancini.
He continued releasing singles until 1977.
